Please note that Sheila is currently taking a short break from her hypnosis practice. If urgent, please contact Sheila through email and she will aim to respond when possible
Hello I am Sheila Gaynard, I am a BPS registered psychologist and have recently retired from the University of Hull were I was a lecturer for more than 20 years. My work was primarily with mature students and my specialism is lifespan development. I particularly enjoy working with both students and clients on confidence building and personal development.
Following my first experience of hypnotherapy in 2012 with Sheila Granger I went from a size 18 to a size 12 in 3 months! I have never looked back – it convinced me that clinical hypnotherapy is my future. It is so empowering!
After qualifying with a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy early in 2013, I set up in private practice, I love this work and the empowerment it brings to my clients – hence the name Enable! I have helped my clients with issues ranging from weight loss to panic attacks, exam stress and performance anxiety, from interview preparation to curing spider phobia and fear of flying.
I am also available to give talks and lead group sessions on lifespan development, hypnotherapy, relaxation and personal development.
Over the last few years Sheila has helped me with several issues.
She is always kind and approachable but professional too. I find the hypnotherapy sessions themselves very relaxing and they are definitely effective! Many years ago I had a really bad experience at the dentist and ended up in hospital. After that I was phobic about the dentist - I couldn't even go for a check up. After just one session with Sheila and a recording to have on my phone I am completely relaxed at the dentist now.
Sheila has also enabled me to lose weight and with pain management and general relaxation strategies.
